Mr. Porter, 27, is a Project Coordinator for Arctas Capital Group, based out of Managua, Nicaragua. He has been a principal member in the firm’s Central American endeavors including financing, development and daily management of efforts related to the firm’s interest in the 40MW Amayo wind park in Rivas, Nicaragua, which will soon be the region’s largest generation facility of its kind. The project marks the first utilization of large scale wind generation in Nicaragua and has experienced record build time, routinely meeting and exceeding projected milestone dates. He holds substantial experience in project management, design and evaluation as well as in analysis of regulatory frameworks, electoral politics, electricity markets and green energy; with specific expertise in the Central and South American economies. Mr. Porter has worked as a consultant within the public and private sectors in Nicaragua, Honduras, Colombia and the United States on disparate issues related to the promotion of regulatory measures that spur investment in renewable energy, particularly in areas of bio-diesel and wind. He received a Masters Degree in International Relations with focus on Latin America and International Economics from the University of California, San Diego where he was a two term Dean’s Fellow and recipient of the Joseph Grunwald Award. Mr. Porter also holds undergraduate degrees in Political Science, Spanish and Linguistics. |
